Danis Flow, and the mail infrastructure that carries its outreach

Danis Flow is a systems and data consultancy working with haulage fleets, field-service trades and industrial contractors in North America — the commercial site is danisflow.com. This domain is the operations half. It runs one host, that host verifies whether a business contact address still exists, and these pages document it so that anyone who sees a connection from it can identify it in one search.

What Danis Flow does

We write the software a yard is currently doing by hand: the dispatch board rebuilt from scratch every morning, the dig ticket photographed on a phone and re-keyed at nine at night, the certificate whose expiry lives in somebody's memory. One principal, Goran Danis, and no account manager layer between a client and the person writing the code.

Why a verification step exists at all

A contact address that no longer exists is worse than useless. Mail to it bounces, every bounce is counted against the sending domain by the receiving provider, and enough of them degrade delivery for the recipients who do want to hear from us. Checking whether an address exists before writing to it is the single most effective way to keep that from happening.

The check is described in full on the address verification page, including the part most people care about: the conversation is deliberately abandoned one command before anything could be delivered, so no message is ever transmitted during a check.
